Card CAT

CARDS-C
Kayla loves drawing, loves cartoons and loves her cat Luna. She is happiest when she is being creative. Zombies can also occasionally be found in her work, but not very often. She doesn't want to scare anyone too much! Kayla does most of her art practice at a community creative space called The White Room. Kayla has been exhibiting her works over 4 years and has had great success showing and selling her art. When Kayla is not doing art, she is a Special Olympics athlete winning two medals in 2025.

Card LAMA

CARDS-L
The group approaches each class by slowing down, observing their surroundings with intention, and looking closely at the details, rhythms, and relationships that shape their everyday lives. The process supports each artist to make their own choices about how they wish to represent where they live. This approach fosters confidence and authorship, empowering participants to share perspectives that are often overlooked, yet deeply insightful and affirming. Challenging assumptions about authorship and creativity, these photos affirm photography as a tool for self-expression and connection, highlighting the importance of inclusive spaces where diverse voices can be seen and valued. Terry's paintings express his sense of connection to his environment at the Halswell Farm campus, where he spends most of his days. Watching the tops of the trees against the changing skies, Terry finds a sense of peace that he recreates in his art time after time.
